Air Fried Chicken

Serves 4

Ingredients

For the chicken:

1 whole chicken, cut into pieces (2 breasts cut in half, 2 wings, 2 legs, 2 thighs)

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

2 cups buttermilk

For the coating:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp paprika

Olive oil spray (such as “spray and cook” for cooking)

Method

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper and then add them to a bowl with the buttermilk already in it. Coat the pieces in the buttermilk and allow them to sit in the fridge for at least one hour.
  2. For the coating, stir the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika together in a bowl.
  3. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dip each piece in the coating mixture so that they are well covered. Transfer the coated chicken to a plate.
  4. Lightly spray the chicken pieces with the oil spray and then add them to the air fryer to cook at 180 degrees celsius for about 14 minutes. After about 14 minutes, turn the chicken over with tongs, lightly spray the bottom side of the chicken pieces and let them cook for another 10 minutes. You may need to cook the chicken in 2 batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
